Delta Kitchen Remodeling: The Austin Owner’s Guide
Delta kitchen remodeling in Austin typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 for a full kitchen, depending on cabinet configuration, countertop material, and whether you’re working with existing Delta fixtures or replacing them outright. We stock Delta-compatible faucet parts, sprayer heads, soap dispensers, and cartridge kits on the truck, so when a Delta kitchen component fails mid-project or years after install, we can usually match it the same day we’re on site. Most Austin homeowners discover a Delta part has failed the hard way: a faucet that drips despite a new handle, a sprayer that lost pressure, or a soap dispenser that won’t pump. The good news is Delta’s system is modular, so a failed part rarely means replacing the whole fixture. The bad news is getting the wrong cartridge or sprayer assembly wastes an afternoon and still leaves you with a drip.
Which Delta Models This Applies To
Delta’s kitchen line splits into a few families, and the part numbers are not interchangeable across all of them. The big ones we see in Austin homes are the Leland, Cassidy, Trinsic, Addison, and Pivotal series. Each uses a specific cartridge: most newer Delta kitchen faucets take the RP50587 cartridge, but older models and some touchless units use the RP19804 or a solenoid-driven valve that is a whole different repair. The quickest way to identify what you have is to pop the handle off and read the number stamped on the cartridge body, or check the tag on the supply lines under the sink. Delta stamps model numbers on the base of the spout or on a sticker inside the cabinet door from the original install. We always match by that stamped number, not by what the faucet looks like. As for OEM versus aftermarket: Delta’s genuine cartridges cost more, typically $35 to $60 for the part alone, but they come with Delta’s own warranty and they fit correctly the first time. Aftermarket equivalents are cheaper but hit-or-miss on tolerance, and a cartridge that seats slightly loose will leak again in six months. For anything that touches water flow, we install OEM Delta parts. Sawyer Remodel Austin is an independent contractor and not affiliated with Delta or its parent company, but we work with their parts daily and know which ones hold up and which ones don’t.

Signs Your Delta Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Faucet drips after you shut it off. This is almost always a worn cartridge seal. Delta cartridges have rubber seats inside that degrade over time, especially with Austin’s hard water, and the drip will get worse before it gets better.
- Sprayer loses pressure or won’t switch back to stream. The diverter inside the spray head or the pull-down hose connection is clogged with mineral buildup or a failed check valve. Sometimes you can soak the head in vinegar; usually the part needs replacing.
- Handle feels gritty or sticks when you turn it. Sediment from Austin water mains works its way into the cartridge body and scores the internal surfaces. A new cartridge fixes it, but only if you flush the lines first or you’ll ruin the new one too.
- Soap dispenser won’t pump or leaks from the top. The internal piston seal wears out. It’s a $15 to $30 part, but it threads into the countertop, and cross-threading the replacement during install is a common mistake we fix for people who tried it themselves.
- Base of the spout wobbles or leaks underneath the counter. The mounting nut or O-ring has loosened or failed. Left alone, water gets under the counter and into the cabinet base, and that is a much more expensive fix than a new O-ring.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Austin, the pricing breaks down like this:
- Delta cartridge replacement: $180 to $320 installed
- Pull-down sprayer head replacement: $120 to $220 installed
- Hose and weight assembly replacement: $140 to $250 installed
- Soap dispenser replacement: $80 to $180 installed
- Full Delta faucet replacement (new fixture, supply lines, install): $450 to $1,100 depending on model and finish
- Full kitchen remodel (cabinets, counters, backsplash, Delta fixtures): $14,000 to $45,000
The labor portion includes pulling the old part, flushing the valve body and supply lines, installing the new Delta OEM part, testing for leaks, and cleaning up. We quote a written price before we start, so the number you approve is the number on the invoice. If the part fails within a year, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we come back and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things yourself: whether the supply valves under the sink are fully open, whether the sprayer hose is kinked behind the cabinet, and whether the aerator screen is clogged. That last one fixes a lot of low-pressure complaints with a $2 part and five minutes. Where DIY goes wrong is pulling the cartridge without a proper puller tool, or cross-threading the retaining nut on a soap dispenser, or buying an aftermarket cartridge online that says it fits but doesn’t. Water under a kitchen sink is a slow leak, and slow leaks rot cabinet floors and encourage mold in Austin’s humidity. If you are not sure which Delta part you have, call (409) 834-4854, describe the faucet, and we will tell you the exact part number and what the installed cost would be. That conversation costs nothing.
FAQs

With Austin’s hard water and regular daily use, a Delta kitchen faucet typically lasts 8 to 15 years before the cartridge or sprayer needs replacement, and longer if you flush the lines during install. Cartridge seals wear faster when water pressure runs high, which is common in older Austin neighborhoods with aging supply lines. Call (409) 834-4854 if yours is dripping early, because sometimes the fix is a pressure issue, not a faucet issue.
A cartridge cannot be repaired once the internal seals are scored or cracked, but replacing it is a fast job that costs far less than a new faucet. In some cases, flushing the valve body and cleaning mineral deposits restores function temporarily, but the leak will return. Call (409) 834-4854 and we will give you an honest read on whether the part is salvageable.
A cartridge or sprayer head replacement usually takes 45 to 90 minutes from arrival to cleanup, assuming the supply valves shut off cleanly and no shutoff replacement is needed. We stock common Delta cartridges and sprayer assemblies on the truck, so we don’t have to leave and come back. Call (409) 834-4854 to schedule, and we will confirm the part before we arrive.
We keep the most common Delta cartridges, sprayer heads, hose weights, and soap dispensers on the truck for same-visit installation, but unusual finishes or touchless models may need a one-day order from our supplier. We will tell you upfront if a part needs ordering before we schedule, so you are not waiting on a surprise. Call (409) 834-4854 and we will confirm stock while you are on the phone.
