ECO Window Systems Roofing: The Austin Owner’s Guide
We stock and install ECO Window Systems-compatible roofing parts across Austin, with most repairs landing between $400 and $1,800 installed. If your ECO roof component is leaking, sagging, or pulling away from the deck, we can usually match the part and fix it in a single visit. Most owners discover the failure the hard way: a water stain on the ceiling after a hard Texas storm, or a drip that shows up six months after the original install.
ECO Window Systems builds their roofing line around modular flashing, ridge caps, and vent collars that interlock with their window and skylight systems. When one piece fails, it’s rarely the roof itself gone bad. It’s almost always a seal, a gasket, or a flashing corner where water found a gap. In Austin’s heat, those rubber gaskets bake hard in about five to seven years, then crack at the worst possible time, usually during a September downpour.
Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems uses a shared flashing and ridge profile across most of their residential roofing line, so the parts we stock match the bulk of what’s installed in Austin homes. The compatibility gotcha to know: ECO changed their vent collar diameter on models built after 2018. The older collars run 3-1/4 inches, the newer ones run 4 inches, and the two do not interchange. If your home was roofed before 2018 and you’re replacing a vent boot, the old collar has to be matched by measurement, not by model name.
To identify your part, start at the underside of the flashing or the edge of the ridge cap. ECO stamps a two-letter series code there, like “RW” for their ridge wrap line or “VF” for vent flashing. That code, plus the width measurement across the flat base, is usually enough for us to match the part over the phone. As for OEM versus aftermarket: ECO’s OEM gaskets hold up better in UV exposure than most generics we’ve pulled off Austin roofs, but for metal ridge caps and drip edge, a quality aftermarket equivalent from a Texas supplier will perform the same and cost 20 to 30 percent less. We’ll tell you which one we’d put on our own house before you spend a dollar.
Sawyer Remodel Austin is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with ECO Window Systems, which means we stock both OEM and proven aftermarket parts and recommend based on what actually lasts in Central Texas weather, not on a brand agreement.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Roofing Is Failing
- Water staining near skylights or roof windows. The rubber boot around the glass has dried and pulled back. Water runs under the flashing and down the interior wall. This is the most common ECO roofing failure we see in Austin.
- Lifted or curled flashing corners. ECO’s aluminum flashing is thin enough that repeated thermal expansion loosens the corner seals. Once a corner lifts, wind-driven rain gets underneath, and the rest of the run starts peeling within a season.
- Granules in the gutters near an ECO roof vent. The vent collar has failed and water is saturating the shingles around the penetration. You’ll see dark, heavy shingle edges right around the collar before leaks show inside.
- Ridge cap sections that no longer sit flat. The ECO ridge wrap uses a foam closure strip that degrades in heat. When the strip crumbles, the cap rocks and the exposed nails back out. If you can wiggle the cap with a broom handle from the ground, it’s already past due.
- Damp attic insulation under roof penetrations. By the time the ceiling stains, the leak has been active for weeks. If you’re up there and see dark, matted insulation around a pipe or vent, the ECO collar above it has failed.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For ECO Window Systems roofing repairs in Austin, you’re looking at $400 to $1,800 installed, with the typical vent boot or flashing corner repair on the lower end around $400 to $700. That price includes the part, the labor to remove the failed piece without tearing surrounding shingles, proper sealing, and cleanup. If your repair runs into ridge cap replacement across a full hip line, or the decking underneath has rotted and needs a patch, you move toward the higher end of that range.
What drives cost is accessibility, roof pitch, and whether the failed part is a single corner or a full flashing run. Steep roofs, two-story access, or anything that requires working around an ECO skylight will add labor. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every roofing repair we do: if the fix fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. We write that on the invoice, not in fine print.
The written price lands in your hands before a single tool leaves the truck. The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice, which you pay from a link once the work is done.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s one thing you can safely do yourself: walk the perimeter with binoculars and look for lifted corners, missing ridge cap sections, or granules collecting at the downspout. That tells you where the failure is. What you should not do is get on an Austin roof in July and start prying at flashing. Between the roof pitch, the heat, and the damage one wrong step does to the shingle deck, a $400 repair becomes a $1,800 job fast. Roof work at height is not a weekend project, and ECO’s interlocking flashing makes amateur patching more likely to fail than to hold.
If you’ve spotted the warning signs and want the part matched and installed without the second-guessing, call us at (409) 834-4854. Luca Romano reads a roof the same way he reads a floor plan: figure out what’s wrong before tearing into anything, then fix it once.
FAQs

You can expect the rubber gaskets and foam closure strips to last 5 to 7 years in Austin’s UV and heat, while the aluminum flashing and metal ridge caps typically last 15 to 20 years. The rubber fails first, almost every time. Call (409) 834-4854 if you’re near that seven-year mark and want us to inspect before a leak starts.
Small corner seal failures can sometimes be resealed with the right polyurethane caulk, but most ECO flashing failures are full gasket breakdown, and patching buys you a few months at best. We’ll tell you honestly which path makes sense once we see it. Call (409) 834-4854 for a free estimate.
Most single-part replacements, like a vent boot or one flashing corner, take 2 to 3 hours start to finish, including cleanup and the before-and-after photos we send you. Full ridge cap runs or skylight re-flashing can run a full day. Call (409) 834-4854 and we’ll give you a time range before we arrive.
We keep the most common ECO flashing, vent collars, and ridge cap parts on the truck for Austin jobs, and anything unusual we source through our Texas suppliers within a day or two. If you send us a photo of the part and the stamp code, we can usually confirm the replacement matches before we leave the shop. Call (409) 834-4854 with a picture in hand and we’ll take it from there.
If your ECO Window Systems roof part is failing, the fix starts with one call. Reach us at (409) 834-4854 for a free estimate, and we’ll get a written price to you before any work begins. Measure twice, cut once, then we actually build the thing.
