ViewLux Fence Installation: The Austin Owner’s Guide
ViewLux fence installation in Austin typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full perimeter, with partial replacements starting lower depending on how many panels and posts are involved. We stock ViewLux-compatible posts, rails, and panel hardware on our trucks, so most Austin repairs finish same-day once we confirm your panel measurements. The usual discovery: you come home to a section leaning after a Hill Country thunderstorm, or a post has worked loose in clay soil and the whole run starts sagging.
What separates ViewLux from commodity vinyl is the aluminum-reinforced post system and the locking rail channels. That’s also where installation goes wrong if someone treats it like a generic PVC fence. The post sleeves and internal brackets have to seat square, and in Austin’s expansive clay they need a deeper set than coastal installers assume. We’ve pulled plenty of ViewLux sections in Bouldin Creek and Tarrytown where the fence itself was fine but the original install cut corners on post depth or used the wrong rail clips. The product holds up. The install is what fails first.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

This covers the ViewLux Estate, Estate Plus, and Pro series fence systems, along with earlier Circle Top and Board-on-Board runs when you can match the panel profile. All ViewLux lines use the same internal aluminum channel and post mounting geometry, but rail clip size changed between the Circle Top era and current production, so we always measure the rail mouth before pulling parts. An old panel and a new panel won’t lock together cleanly if the clip generation is off by even an eighth of an inch.
When we arrive, we look for the mill stamp on the back of a mid-rail, usually a four-digit date code plus the series letter. If that stamp is weathered off, we measure the rail channel depth and the post sleeve outer dimension to identify what generation you have. For OEM versus aftermarket: ViewLux’s own replacement posts and rails carry a transferable warranty, but quality aftermarket aluminum inserts from Texas fence suppliers run about 20 to 30 percent less and hold up the same in our sun. We’ll give you the price for both and let you choose. Sawyer Remodel Austin is an independent service provider and not affiliated with ViewLux; we just know the system well enough to match parts the first trip.

Signs Your ViewLux Fence Installation Is Failing
- Posts leaning at the base, especially after rain. Austin’s clay soil swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and a post set shallow will float right out of plumb. The fix is usually removal and a deeper re-set with gravel drainage, not just shimming the panel.
- Rail clips popping or panels rattling in the wind. The locking ears on older clips fatigue from UV exposure and thermal expansion. When one goes, the neighboring panels start working loose within weeks because the rail loses its anchor point.
- Gaps opening between panels at the top or bottom. This usually means a post sleeve shifted or the internal aluminum rail bent. Panels don’t shrink much in this climate unless they’re direct-sun southern exposures, so a gap means structure, not material.
- White chalky residue on panel surfaces. That’s UV bloom from years of Texas sun. It does not affect strength, but it means the surface is nearing the end of its cosmetic life, and we can tell you whether cleaning or replacement makes more sense.
- Bottom rails sagging between posts on longer runs. ViewLux rails are rated for specific spans. If a previous installer stretched a run past spec or skipped a mid-post, the rail will bow permanently and the only honest fix is section replacement with proper spacing.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full ViewLux fence installation in Austin lands between $3,500 and $9,000, and you should expect most repairs to fall well under the full range. Post replacement runs $250 to $650 per post, including concrete removal if the old footing comes up intact. A single panel swap is $180 to $400 depending on width, series, and whether we need to match an older profile. A full 150-foot perimeter with new posts, rails, panels, and gates is where the $7,000 to $9,000 territory lives.
Every quote is a written price before we touch a post. That number includes parts, labor, demolition and haul-off of the old section, and a walkthrough when we finish. We don’t hose you at the end with dump fees or convenience charges. The work is backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year after the job closes. Call (409) 834-4854 for a free estimate, and we’ll give you the number in dollars before you decide anything.
DIY or Call Us?
There is no high-tension danger with ViewLux the way there is with a garage spring or electrical panel, but there is a geometry problem. A fence that looks straight when you’re standing next to it can be an inch out of line across a 50-foot run, and ViewLux’s locking channels punish that slop hard. If a section is racked even slightly, the rails won’t seat and you’ll be fighting clips for an afternoon.
What you can safely do yourself: note which panels are loose, mark the posts that lean, and measure the panel width and rail channel depth so we know what’s on the truck before we roll. What usually goes wrong with DIY: setting a new post without checking runout or slope, mixing clip generations, and burying a post shallow because the clay fought back. If the post needs to come out in one piece or a gate is out of square, call us. Luca Romano and the crew will get it straight the first trip. Phone is (409) 834-4854.
FAQs

ViewLux panels carry a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer, but the installed structure realistically gives Austin homeowners 15 to 25 years depending on sun exposure, drainage around the posts, and whether the original post footing was set below the clay movement zone. Posts will almost always need attention before panels do. Call (409) 834-4854 for an exact assessment of your fence line.
Sometimes, if the lean is less than a few degrees and the post sleeve is still intact, we can reset the post with new concrete and re-brace the rails without buying new material. If the aluminum insert is bent or the sleeve is cracked, replacement is the cheaper long-term move. We’ll show you the repair option and the replacement option with prices before you choose.
A post swap or single-panel replacement is usually done in two to four hours, including concrete cure time for quick-set mix. A full perimeter replacement runs two to four days depending on footage and gate count. We’ll give you a firm schedule and a live arrival time before work starts, so you’re not sitting around waiting.
We carry the common profiles, rail clips, post inserts, and gate hardware for current-generation ViewLux systems on our Austin service trucks, which gets most repairs done in one visit. For older Circle Top runs or special-order colors, we’ll source the part and have it on site within a week. If we don’t have it, we’ll tell you that on the phone, not after we’ve dug a hole.
If your ViewLux fence is leaning, rattling, or pulling apart at the rails, don’t wait until the next storm makes a small problem a long fence replacement. Call (409) 834-4854 for a free estimate. We’ll give you a written price, tell you who is coming and when they’ll arrive, and send photo updates before and after the job. That’s how every Sawyer Remodel job runs. Measure twice, cut once, then we actually build the thing.
