Tremron Driveway & Pavers: The Austin Owner's Guide
We install and replace Tremron-compatible driveway pavers and retaining wall block throughout Austin, with most paver driveway installations running $7,000 to $18,000 depending on square footage and base conditions. If your Tremron pavers are cracking, sinking, or the joints are blowing out after heavy rain, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone. The most common call we get starts with a homeowner noticing one sunken paver near the driveway apron, then realizing the problem stretches twice as far as they thought.
What most people don’t realize is that a failing paver surface is usually not the paver’s fault. Tremron makes a solid product. The failure is almost always underneath: a base that wasn’t compacted right, a washed-out sand bed, or an edge restraint that let go. We’ll tell you what’s actually wrong before we quote a single dollar, and we won’t sell you a full replacement if a repair will hold.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron’s Austin-facing catalog breaks into a few families you’ll recognize from your own driveway or patio: the Holland and Olde Towne lines for that classic street-brick look, the Mega line for larger-format pavers that read more modern, and the retaining wall series that shows up in tiered Austin yards all over Bouldin Creek and Hyde Park. The compatibility gotcha most owners miss is that Tremron’s color blends are batch-specific. A “Sierra Blend” paver from a 2019 batch will not match a 2024 batch perfectly. If you’re patching a section, we’ll tell you that before you spend money on pavers you’ll have to live with.
For identification, flip over any loose paver. Tremron stamps the underside with a product code you can read with a phone flashlight. If the paver is too tight to lift or the stamp has worn, measure it: Holland series runs 60mm thick in a 4×8 format, Mega pavers are 80mm and double the face size. When replacement pavers are needed, we source genuine Tremron or equivalent-grade aftermarket product that matches color and dimensional specs. You don’t have to take whatever a supplier has on a pallet.
Sawyer Remodel Austin is an independent contractor. We’re not affiliated with Tremron, and we don’t pretend to be. We just know their product lines well enough to match what’s already in your yard without guesswork.

Signs Your Tremron Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sunken or dished pavers near the driveway apron: This is base material settling or washing out underneath. Water is getting under the pavers and carrying the fines away. Every rain makes it worse.
- Cracked pavers in a straight line: A line of cracks usually means a joint that was cut or edged too tight and the pavers are now crushing each other under vehicle weight. One cracked paver is traffic. Five in a row is a base problem.
- Joint sand washing out constantly: Polymeric sand should lock the joints. If it’s gone after one season of Austin storms, the base is moving or the sand wasn’t installed at the right moisture. Re-sanding without fixing the movement just repeats the cycle.
- Edge pavers drifting outward: Your edge restraint has failed or was never installed. Without a solid edge, the whole field starts walking apart a quarter inch at a time.
- Standing water that didn’t used to pool: Austin’s clay-heavy soil expands and contracts hard through our wet-dry cycles. That movement can warp a paver surface by half an inch or more in a season, and the water pooling is the tell.

AfterReplacement Cost & What's Included

For an Austin paver driveway on Tremron-compatible product, you’re looking at $7,000 to $18,000 installed. The range is driven by three things: total square footage, what’s happening under the existing surface, and access to the site. A 400-square-foot driveway in a subdivision with a wide side yard is a very different job than a 1,200-square-foot curved driveway on a slope in Westlake.
Every quote includes removal and disposal of the old pavers, base repair or full rebuild as needed, new edge restraint, the pavers themselves, polymeric joint sand, and compaction. We write the price before we start work and the number doesn’t change unless you change the scope. That’s The Relay Visibility Guarantee on every job: a written price, a live arrival time, and photo updates before and after. If the repair fails within 365 days, we come back and make it right. Luca Romano reads every estimate before it goes out, and he’ll flag a base problem before demo instead of after.
DIY or Call Us?
If you have one cracked paver and the surrounding field is solid, you can lift it with a flat pry bar, add a little sand, and reset it. If you have a crack that keeps coming back in the same spot, that’s a base issue and prying more pavers won’t fix it. Same goes for edge drift and persistent sand washout. You can rent a plate compactor and re-sand the joints, but if the base is failing, you’ll be redoing it next spring.
Paver work itself isn’t high-risk like electrical or gas work. It’s more about not spending your weekends on a fix that won’t hold. If the problem is bigger than a couple of pavers, call us at (409) 834-4854 and we’ll tell you what you’re actually dealing with. The estimate is free. The hour you spend guessing isn’t.
FAQs

A properly installed Tremron paver driveway lasts 20 to 30 years in Austin before you’re even thinking about the surface itself. What fails first around here is the base, not the paver. Our clay soil’s wet-dry cycle moves more than the pavers can flex with, and once the base shifts, the pavers follow. Call (409) 834-4854 for an exact assessment of your driveway’s condition.
Yes, in most cases we can lift and re-set a sunken section without tearing out the whole driveway. We’ll pull the affected pavers, re-grade the base, re-compact, and re-set. If the base has washed out across a large area, spot repair stops making sense and a partial re-base is the call. The estimate will show you the difference in writing.
Most residential paver driveways take three to five working days from demo to final compaction and sanding. A large or sloped driveway can run longer. The schedule you get at quote is the schedule we keep, and you’ll get photo updates as the job moves.
We source pavers per job from local Austin suppliers, matched to your existing Tremron product by color, size, and format. For small patch jobs, we can usually pull the product within a couple of days. For full driveways, we order the material after your written approval and it lands on site before demo starts. Call (409) 834-4854 and we’ll check current availability for your specific line.
