Blanco Home Additions & ADU: The Austin Owner’s Guide
A Blanco home addition or ADU in Austin typically runs $45,000 to $130,000 installed, depending on square footage, foundation work, and whether you’re building up or out. We stock Blanco-compatible fixture and hardware lines for additions and ADUs, and most parts ship or install within a week once we’ve confirmed your model. The usual discovery moment: you’ve framed the addition, the Blanco fixtures go in, and something doesn’t seat right or a valve fails on first pressure test. That’s exactly the point where the part number matters more than the framing.
We’re an independent Austin contractor, not affiliated with Blanco. We carry their lines because the spec sheets are consistent and the warranty path is clean. But when a Blanco part fails mid-build, the fix is rarely the part alone. It’s the part, the rough-in measurement behind it, and the Austin clay soil shifting under the slab you just tied into. We handle all three.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s home additions and ADU ecosystem breaks into three series lines that matter for Austin builds: the Blanco Precision Series (wall-mount and deck-mount faucets, pre-rinse models), the Blanco Unit Series (undermount sinks and basin hardware), and the Blanco Flexon II Series (pull-down and pull-out spray heads). Each has different valve cartridges and different rough-in depths. A Precision Series faucet from a 2018 build does not accept a Flexon II cartridge, even though the handles look nearly identical. That mismatch is the single most common parts return we see.
To identify your part: the model number is laser-etched on the underside of the spout base or stamped on the valve body under the handle. If it’s a sink, the model is on the underside of the basin rim. Take a photo of both the part and where it mounts before you order anything. For OEM versus aftermarket on Blanco specifically: OEM cartridges and spray heads run $60 to $220 and match the original flow rate exactly. Aftermarket equivalents run $25 to $90 and work for older units, but we’ve seen inconsistent pressure compensation on aftermarket Flexon II spray heads in Austin’s hard-water zones. If your water is over 8 grains hard, OEM is the safer call. If it’s a trim piece or escutcheon, aftermarket is fine.

Signs Your Blanco Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Low flow from the spray head or spout. In Austin, this is usually mineral scaling inside the aerator or cartridge from hard water, not a failing valve. But if cleaning the aerator doesn’t fix it, the cartridge seat has likely eroded and needs replacing.
- Handle creep or no-temperature-stop failure. The Blanco cartridge has a ceramic disc stack. When that stack wears, the handle won’t hold position. You’ll set it to warm and it drifts to hot or cold on its own.
- Drip at the spout that won’t stop. A drip after shutoff means the cartridge face isn’t sealing. On Blanco Precision Series, this often happens within 5 to 8 years in Austin homes with hard water, even faster if the water heater is set above 140°F.
- Corrosion at the supply line connections. If the braided supply lines are original and the addition or ADU sat unoccupied for months after framing, humidity plus Austin’s alkaline soil conditions can corrode the fittings where they meet the valve body. That’s a leak waiting for a pressure event.
- Sink basin movement or seal failure. On undermount Blanco Unit Series sinks, if you can slide a piece of paper between the sink flange and the countertop, the mounting clips have loosened. The weight of a full basin plus disposal vibration eventually works those clips loose here more than in other markets because of seasonal slab movement.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Installed replacement pricing for Blanco parts on a home addition or ADU in Austin breaks down like this:
- Cartridge replacement: $145 to $320 installed, part included.
- Spray head replacement: $90 to $240 installed, depending on Flexon II versus Precision Series.
- Faucet replacement: $260 to $750 installed, depending on finish and whether the old rough-in needs re-plumbing.
- Undermount sink clip repair: $180 to $400 installed, including re-sealing and re-clamping.
- Supply line replacement: $60 to $180 installed per set, if we’re already on site for the cartridge.
The range is driven by three things: whether the rough-in is accessible from below, whether the Austin water has eaten the existing valve body threads, and whether we’re doing it as a standalone call or while already on site for a larger addition or ADU scope. Every quote is a written line-item price before work starts. If the repair fails within 365 days, we come back and make it right under the Done Right Promise. No second invoice, no argument.
DIY or Call Us?
An aerator cleaning or a visual inspection is fair DIY territory. You’re not going to hurt anything unscrewing an aerator. But opening a Blanco valve body to swap a cartridge is where the plumbing can turn sideways fast in an Austin addition or ADU. The shutoff valves under the sink are often original, sometimes frozen open, and if the water supply won’t fully isolate, you’re looking at a flooded build-out mid-install. High water pressure in many Austin neighborhoods, especially older mains running 70+ psi, makes a half-shut valve a real liability.
Luca Romano’s rule on this one: if you can’t see the shutoff and you can’t turn it by hand, don’t start the cartridge pull. Call us at (409) 834-4854. We’ll diagnose the part number, quote the fix in writing, and do the swap with the water fully isolated and tested before we leave.
FAQs

Blanco cartridges in Austin typically last 5 to 8 years, and the finish lasts 10 to 15 if you’re not scrubbing it with abrasive cleaners. Hard water shortens the cartridge life. A whole-house softener extends it. We’ve replaced cartridges in Bouldin Creek ADUs at the 4-year mark simply because the water hardness there runs high and the owners didn’t have a softener.
Call (409) 834-4854 if you think yours is failing early. We’ll pull the old cartridge and show you exactly what failed before we quote the replacement.
Cartridges and spray heads are replaceable components, not repairable ones. Once the ceramic discs are worn or the spray head diverter is scaled solid, the only fix is new parts. Trim rings, escutcheons, and handles can sometimes be cleaned and re-used if the finish is intact. We’ll tell you which one applies to your unit before any money changes hands.
Most Blanco cartridge and spray head replacements take 45 minutes to 2 hours on site. The variable is the shutoff valve. If the original valves need replacing, add another hour. We quote that in the written estimate so the invoice matches the number you approved.
We keep common Blanco cartridges, spray heads, and supply lines on the truck for Precision Series and Flexon II models. Less common finishes and Unit Series sink hardware are usually available from our supplier within 3 to 5 business days. If you send us a photo of the model number before we come out, we’ll have the right part on the truck the first time.
We also work with other major brands like KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone when the scope goes beyond the fixture itself.
If you’ve got a Blanco addition or ADU fixture that’s leaking, seizing, or just not performing like it did when it was new, call (409) 834-4854 for a free estimate. We’ll confirm the part, put the price in writing, and get it done right. Measure twice, cut once, then we actually build the thing.
